Port Cunnington Lodge

A classic Lake of Bays resort, Port Cunnington has grown in size and stature over the past decade. The creaky Fawlty Towers vibe has been purged from the main lodge. And the dining room has gone upscale (menu offerings may include pan-seared tilapia with an orange-dill glaze or lamb shanks with a dijon sauce), though it’s not too formal (think ceiling fans, not chandeliers). Many of the new chalet-style buildings feature pine panelling, picture windows and fireplaces. Ever since the days when guests arrived by steamship, the resort has been popular with families. Although there are no babysitting programs during the day, kids can find plenty to do; canoes and kayaks line the sandy beach.
