If you can’t make it to Disney World, Niagara Falls’ Great Wolf Lodge may be the next best thing. Though unashamedly cheesy, it’s a surefire crowd-pleaser. The decorative theme is Disney–meets–Possum Lodge, complete with antler chandeliers, pine log furniture, a stone fireplace and animal decorations. The KidKamp suites each feature a queen bed for the adults and bunk beds in the children’s rooms. Camp-themed foods, such as pizza, Rice Krispie squares and chocolate pudding, are served in the kids’ section of the restaurant, where even the banquettes look like tents. When the woodlands theme wears thin, refresh yourself in the 100,000-square-foot indoor water park. Parents who want a break head for the resort’s Aveda Spa and Salon.
Driving Time:
two hours.
When:
year-round.
How Much:
KidKamp suite (suitable for two adults and two children) from $229 per night.
