Breakers Motel

On a sandy beach at the eastern end of Cobourg’s Victoria Park, this motel is a cut above the norm, a popular summer destination for families looking for a self-catering getaway. Room 6, for example, has a fireplace, hardwood floors and a view of the water. The new two-storey units are even more impressive: Suite 12 has one bedroom on each level, plus a pullout sofa in each of its two living rooms, as well as televisions and gas fireplaces. The kitchen has everything necessary to cook a meal. Suite 11 has the best view of Lake Ontario, through a porthole-style window. Charcoal barbecues are also available.
