Pronounced “zees,” Stratford’s first boutique hotel opened in 2004. Converted from a bank building, the hotel offers six second-floor rooms, each decorated by Cecconi Simone with Zen-like simplicity: plain wooden floors, shoji screens and a single red gerbera daisy. Despite the simpleness, the requisite boutique luxuries are all in place: lavish quantities of Bulgari toiletries in the bathrooms; Frette bed linens; robes and slippers; a pashmina throw on each bed. The marble bathrooms have soaker tubs, double sinks, and glass- and marble-walled walk-in showers. A gourmet continental breakfast (local sheep’s milk yogurt and Quebec cheeses) is served on the ground floor.
Driving Time:
one and a half hours.
When:
May 1 to Oct. 31.
How Much:
$325–$355 per room, includes breakfast and parking.
