This Picton B&B has recently blossomed into a 13-room country inn under the expert management of Amy and Edward Shubert. The original Victorian mansion was built for Sir Edwards Merrill, a local attorney who was known to share a pint with Sir John A. in the front parlour. For privacy, choose Room 209, a tranquil corner space furnished with a mahogany Regency-period bed and secretary desk. Sunlight streams into Room 202, which features three walls of windows and a fireplace. The inn’s expansion includes a wine bar and restaurant. Sandbanks Provincial Park’s beaches are nearby.
