A 2007 facelift gave the 1849 Kettle Creek Inn a Cape Cod façade, with attractive awnings and decorative railings. Indoors, the 10 guest rooms (each named for a local artist) remain relatively unchanged. The second-floor P. Johnson room has a sunny sitting area with a fireplace, a queen-size bed with a Jacuzzi off to the side, and a private porch overlooking the street. A short walk across the courtyard brings you to a second building, and five luxe suites with whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces. The inn is known for its dining room: lightly battered Lake Erie perch was probably unloaded just hours earlier from one of the fishing tugs docked nearby.
Driving Time:
two hours.
When:
year-round.
How Much:
$150–$230 per room; two-night package $350–$660 per couple, includes continental breakfast and three-course dinner.
