The Falls Inn

  • Walters Falls

Perched at the edge of a wooded river valley overlooking the 14-metre Walters Falls, the inn’s 15 guest rooms have a great view, especially in autumn when the valley’s changing maples attract hikers to the four-and-a-half-kilometre side loop of the Bruce Trail. With such a great view, larger windows would be nice, but each room has a walkout to a balcony with a bistro table and chairs. The three-year-old inn’s bicolour concrete brick exterior resembles a suburban monster home, but the guest rooms are spacious and comfortably equipped with king or queen beds, mini-fridges, sitting areas, satellite televisions, high-speed Internet, and large bathrooms with heated ceramic floors. Honeymooners opt for the Mahogany suite with its Jacuzzi tub; an attractive one-room spa is on the lower level. A breakfast buffet, with such options as eggs Benny, is served in the dining room, which has been panelled with hardwood from the old sawmill. In summer, smart guests reserve a table on the balcony overlooking the falls. Riverside hiking trails lead from the property; in winter the inn is handy to a large network of local snowmobile trails.
