This family-friendly Muskoka inn invites guests to grill their own dinners and hang out at the dock as though they were visiting a cottage. Situated on some 200 feet of sandy shoreline on a quiet bay across from the Delta Grandview resort, the three-storey inn has seven guest rooms (all with ensuite baths) and one apartment. At ground level, the lounge is a pleasant place to hang out, with its tartan-covered chairs and pine tables; a kitchenette is stocked with plates, barbecue utensils, a microwave and a fridge. On the upper level, the Green Room is the most popular, with its great view of the beach from corner windows. A second-floor library is well stocked with games and books. Those seeking a little luxury should book the sun-filled 1,200-square-foot apartment, where cherry floors and a massive granite hearth provide a real Muskoka feel. Canoes, a kayak and a five-horsepower runabout await at the waterfront, along with Muskoka chairs. Beach toys, sleeping bags and cribs are all provided. Evening bonfires are celebrated with s’mores.
