A nine-room Italianate yellow-brick hotel, Dr. Corbett’s is popular with leisure and business travellers. Room 1, on the third floor, is decorated in oxblood, with palm tree engravings adorning the walls. A down-filled sofa is a comfy place to snuggle up with a book after a relaxing soak in the Jacuzzi. The ground-floor bar and restaurant are decorated with a Moroccan theme. Come evening, catch a performance at the town’s restored Capitol Theatre (905-885-1071, 1-800-434-5092). For something adventurous, book a flight on an ultralight aircraft at Trikeair Aviation (905-885-4261). It’s the aviation equivalent of riding a motorcycle, with the wind in your face as you catch the view—stretching from Rice Lake to Lake Ontario—from 1,000 feet in the air.
