Expansive views of the Hockley Valley and easy access to the Bruce Trail make this hilltop B&B a favourite with hikers. Completed in 2004, the house resembles a Norman farmhouse on the exterior, with its stone walls and steeply pitched roof, though it has modern touches, including two air exchangers that keep the interior virtually allergen-free. An apartment-style suite suits longer stays, but B&B guests have their choice of four spacious rooms with large ensuite bathrooms. Lying in the Relessey Room’s antique walnut king-size bed, you get a view that stretches for nearly 40 kilometres. With a tub big enough for two, it’s also dubbed “the honeymoon suite.” Guests most often request the periwinkle blue Hockley Room, with its three-metre-wide expanse of windows and pretty white wicker furniture. The B&B is surrounded by 24 acres of gardens and fields, and even has a practice golf hole with a rolling 270-yard fairway and bent grass green. Golfers looking for full game book a round at the Hockley Valley (519-942-0754), Shelburne (519-925-5581) or Osprey Valley (1-800-833-1561) courses.
