This 1898 house has 10 guest rooms and a renovated gazebo where guests can enjoy a massage. Room 201—with its king-size four-poster bed, gas fireplace, luxurious bath with bidet, whirlpool tub, twin pedestal sinks and black faux snakeskin floor—is a good choice. The beautifully groomed five-acre grounds feature a swimming pool with cabanas, a tennis court and an outdoor bar. A buffet breakfast is served in the dining room. The town’s shops are just a five-minute walk away. For a more scenic route, take the path to the Trans-Canada Trail. Pick up a $2 map at the Visitor Centre (519-664-3518) and explore the back roads of Mennonite farm country. From April through October, horse-drawn trolley rides by Country Livery Services (519-888-0302) provide visits to Mennonite farms.
