Close to Queen’s University, Hotel Belvedere is popular with visiting parents and profs. The founder of the university’s nursing school lived in and ran his medical clinic at this Georgian-style house in the 1880s. Since then, it has seen several incarnations and additions: in the 1920s it was transformed into an elegant hotel. By the 1970s its grandeur had faded, but in 1987 it received a major facelift. On the whole, the 20 guest rooms are attractively decorated and furnished with an eclectic collection of antiques. On the ground floor, Room 101 features a Jacuzzi tub screened by two stained glass French windows. Continental breakfast is served in your room, on the terrace or in the splendid drawing room.
