The dramatic limestone cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment are one of Ontario’s most celebrated geological wonders. But Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area, nestled within the escarpment, just south of Milton, is mostly known as a nature lover’s paradise. The 652-acre park has four marked hiking trails, ranging in length from one to 10 kilometres. These pass through the Nassagaweya Canyon and offer fine views of the countryside, not to mention rare flora and fauna: eastern pipistrelle bats and hackberry trees. Sheer cliffs provide vertical playgrounds for rock climbers of all skill levels. An on-site campground offers overnight stays.
