To best explore the University of Toronto campus, start at Philosopher’s Walk (entering via a gateway off Bloor Street), which winds through a shallow dip behind the Royal Ontario Museum. Soak up the collegial atmosphere in the Trinity College quad, or go inside the building to admire the Gothic architecture and the tiny gem of a chapel at the west end. Cross Hoskin Avenue and walk south on Tower Road, past Hart House, and stroll under the memorial arch of Soldier’s Tower to University College on King’s College Circle. This neo-Romanesque monolith features an eclectic blend of architectural styles. Cross Queen’s Park, with its shade-giving trees, explore the ivy-covered charm of Victoria College, and walk north one block, ending up at the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art (416-586-8080).
