Humber Bay Butterfly Habitat

  • 416-392-5323
Vladimir Nabokov once said that butterfly hunting was one of the most intense pleasures known to man. If you agree, go to Etobicoke’s Humber Bay Park East: it has several havens for native flora and fauna, including this butterfly playground. More than 100 types of native and ornamental plants were chosen for their ability to attract such local lepidoptera as mourning cloaks, red admirals and the wonderfully named American painted ladies. In spring and fall, migrating monarchs can be found snacking on milkweed.
