Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens, Blythwood Ravine, Sherwood Park

There’s no better place to explore Toronto’s ravines than this five-kilometre network of parks, which winds from Yonge and Lawrence to the borders of Leaside. The western gateway is the Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens, whose brick pathways and rose gardens are inviting. Stone steps lead into the ravine, which is forested with maples, willows, beeches and oaks. The path, great for a run or walking the dog, follows the course of Burke Brook.
