This forested expanse includes a homestead farm from the early 19th century. In winter, visitors make use of 26 kilometres of cross-country trails, a skating pond, heated chalet and snack bar. In the warmer months, the main attractions are 234 campsites and a man-made lake. This is Canada’s oldest conservation area, on 1,200 acres of land in the Caledon Hills, surrounded by pine-covered ridges. The 40-plus-kilometre network of trails draws hikers and bikers.
