This museum is one of only three sugar museums in the world and is the oldest sugar refining company in Canada. The story of the business unfolds through a series of rooms, and includes an outline of the Redpath family history. The entertaining curator, Richard Feltoe, delivers lessons in the science, social history and economics of sugar production. Learn about Ontario’s sugar beet boondoggle and how processed sugar cane is used for such diverse enterprises as the manufacture of plastics, paper, alcohol, medicines, fertilizers, concrete and explosives.
