Adventurous snacks fill this humble Southeast Asian grocery store. For example, a balut, a duck egg containing a two-week embryo, sells here for $1.09. The selection of Filipino and Vietnamese ingredients is good, and a fresh meat counter offers pork, beef and goat. Despite the Chinese name, the grocery is a multiculti hodgepodge: halal bouillon cubes, Trinidadian sodas, dried seaweed and microwavable Korean kalbi. There’s bok choy, yu choy, callaloo leaves, plantain, horseradish and curry leaves, and a vast selection of tinned sardines.
