Great food shops are a rarity in the east end, but this treasure is an exception to the rule. Its vast refrigerators are filled with ready-to-go meals, picture-perfect produce and prepared soups and salads. Wooden shelves are filled with house-made preserves and condiments, from adventurous salsas (try the honey-lime-mango) to exotic marmalades (the Monteverde version is a rich papaya jelly dotted with juicy pineapple bits). The freezer is stuffed with chicken pot pies, as well as Queen’s Pasta (cheese tortellini and butternut squash agnolotti) and tubs of Greg’s addictive ice cream.
