The house-brand pasta sauce is locally made from fresh Ontario tomatoes; the cheese is mozzarella made from buffalo milk or raw-milk cheddar, aged eight years. Beverages such as sparkling Effervé lemonade in embossed glass bottles are perfect for a cucumber-sandwich tea party. There are also a hundred different prepared foods, from stuffed pastas and quiche to mini-latkes, dips and spreads, on display in a 35-foot showcase at the heart of the store.
