Taking over a former photographer’s studio at the southeast corner of Trinity Bellwoods Park, owner Nadège Nourian eschews Gallic kitsch for Paris moderne. The sleek white room, accented with charcoal and pink, is the perfect setting for this Lyonnaise pastry chef’s haute creations. Sweet and savoury pastries are displayed in a single-layer case like luxury watches. In addition to sandwiches and quiche, lunch options might include profiteroles filled with smoked salmon and herbed cream cheese. Desserts range from Valrhona chocolate cakes to delicate macaroons to sticky cannelés, a specialty of Bordeaux.
