Also home to chef-owner Don Duong’s restaurant, DT Bistro, the bright, white-on-white space features delicate orchids and towering, breezy French doors overlooking sunswept Harbord Street. What a fabulous place to enjoy one of Duong’s creations—the options vary with the seasons and his whims. He likes variety and seems to have, at his fingertips, all manner of exotic ingredients, such as the Sicilian pistachios that feature in one of his new Swiss premium ice creams. Come late summer, there are 18 flavour-rich ice cream and gelato options on display in the shop, as well as two in the back. All single-serving tarts and cakes are available in seven- and nine-inch sizes. Sandwiches are prepared to order and available for takeout. Croissants—plain, chocolate, almond—are made in-house.
