The Big Carrot

Three years after an expansive renovation, the market is still a destination for ethical eaters. Local and organic is just the start; the 25-year-old store is working toward eliminating all plastic packaging and has a strict non-GMO policy for its produce, grains, bulk, dairy, meat, coffee, tea and prepared foods. It’s an oasis for vegetarians, vegans and people with food sensitivities. Cooking and nutrition seminars include a gluten-free baking class and one tackling how to cook with sea vegetables.
