Of Kensington’s many eclectic health food stores, this is the largest and most comprehensive. Abundantly stocked shelves, perused from crowded aisles, are lined with everything needed to nourish meat-free bodies (Tofurky, wheat meat and myriad hemp comestibles), soothe sensitive baby bottoms (chlorine-free diapers), fortify brittle bones (a bewildering selection of vitamins) and beef up biceps (protein powder in many whey-tasty flavours). Organic fruits and vegetables—appropriately wrinkly in all their unwaxed glory—alongside naturally raised meat, bulk bins full of dry goods, and vats of scoop-your-own nut butter make this a one-stop health nut shop.
