This shop could just as easily be found in Digby, Nova Scotia, what with the rustic, wooden interior and the chalkboard advertising the increasingly popular lobster steamer supper (freshly steamed lobsters, plus a selection of sides, available for pick-up or delivery). The refrigerated display is loaded with a small but worthy selection of such things as black tiger shrimp, sushi-grade tuna, wild West Coast salmon and “dry” scallops. (which taste better because they haven’t been plumped up with a sodium-water solution). The toothsome Crabby Cakes, prepared using an East Coast recipe, are available in two sizes—standard and petite for hors d’oeuvre—and are paired with a tangy Creole mustard sauce. A daily selection of prepared meals, from clam garlic linguine to fish pot pie, may be eaten in the shop or taken out. Closed Monday.
