One of the best places to purchase ready-made takeout containers of beautifully cut, fresh fish (from glistening, silver-skinned mackerel, tuna belly and fluke to plump raw scallops and sea urchin) for making sashimi or sushi at home. The shop yields other treasures, such as fresh wasabi root, seaweed and barbecued eel. A small but pleasing selection of fresh seafood includes Kumamoto oysters and clams.
