Caviar Centre

Stick to the good selection of mostly Canadian options here, such as wild Atlantic sturgeon caviar; golden whitefish caviar from Lake Huron; and the black, pearly Mujjol caviar from Spain, excellent as a finishing or cooking caviar, and well priced at $20 for a 125-gram jar. Owner Mark Omidi supplies many of Toronto’s top shops, but customers buy direct for his knowledge and the opportunity to see, smell and taste before purchasing. Omidi also carries a range of sublime foodstuffs, such as sargol, the best Persian saffron. There are fresh summer and winter truffles and an exquisite aged Italian balsamic vinegar ($175 for a 100-millilitre bottle). By appointment.
