Hugo Weidelich ages all of his beef, including the black Angus variety, to meet his own high standards. But there’s a lot more to Hugo’s than just beef. The fridges are packed: canned buffalo rouladen and pâté, venison liver pâté and onions, liverwurst and wild boar goulash. The deli showcases 27 types of sausage, and Hugo’s double-smoked bacon is a Toronto legend. Customers looking for lean proteins are led to a selection of game—ostrich, boar, buffalo and venison. Closed Sunday and Monday.
