For five years now, this adorable little café—cornflower blue and dijon yellow, French music and the French flag aloft in the Etobicoke breeze—has maintained its authenticity, right down to the crusty baguettes and crusty service. Award-winning Toulouse-born chef Patrick Alléguèdes’ pastries show precision and over-the-top elegance. For example, a unique Provençal quiche with goat cheese, tomatoes and olives is a stunner. Both chef Alléguèdes and his son, Rodney, make everything in-house—duck confit, pâté, beef bourguignon, fruit cobbler—all inspired by the flavours of France.
