A staple in the neighbourhood since 1973, this Etobicoke store is part grocery, part cooking supply shop and part drug store. There’s a small selection of produce, a single aisle of hard-to-find fruits and vegetables sitting next to eggplant, tomatoes and ginger, plus entire walls of rice, spice mixes and pickles made with mango, ginger, gooseberry or carrot. Ready-made roti and naan are on offer, as well as containers of Indian sweets, like gulab jamun, burfi and laddu. A small shelf holds a small selection of pots and pans, and henna hair dye and soaps are on sale near the front cash register.
