Olympic Food And Cheese Mart

For 46 years, cheese lovers have been flocking to this cupboard of a shop in St. Lawrence Market and, more recently, a Markham branch. There are well over 500 cheeses on offer, including Swiss AOC, French raw-milk, specialty English and Welsh varieties, and artisanal cheese from Quebec, as well as an assortment of low-fat, low-sodium numbers. Olympic’s best-seller is a cave-aged Swiss gruyère. Also available: an expansive selection of antipasti, a wonderful 25-year-old balsamic vinegar from Modena, and award- winning olive oils hailing from Greece and Italy. Closed Sunday; St. Lawrence Market location closed Sunday and Monday.
