This wedge of a shop provides an upmarket alternative to the bargain cheesemongers down the street. Friendly staff help navigate a panoply of cheeses from around the globe. The U.K. is well represented, with creamy Scottish Drumloch cheddar nestled against an oddball white stilton made with mango and ginger. Raw-milk fans are catered to with sharp Portuguese St. Jorge, classic French Morbier and organic white cheddar from Quebec. Artisanal Québécois cheeses have a legion of fans, especially the salty, buttery Riopelle de l’Isle. The olive bar and deli case provide the fixings for a charcuterie platter, while a wall of premium crackers and accoutrements puts the final touches on the ultimate cheese plate. Four different kinds of halvah satisfy the sweet tooth.
