Eclectic music mingles with animated chatter, laughter and the gentle clink of mugs at this bustling café, which has a wide selection of coffees (all roasted on-site) and loose-leaf teas. Ethiopian brews (such as the Yirga Cheffe Oromia, with its complex fruitiness and hints of mocha) lure discerning coffee drinkers; authentic Japanese matcha lattes, gentle rooibos blends and flowering tea balls woo the tea-drinking set. Slouchy banquettes and mismatched tables have seen better days, but their scruffy, well-loved demeanour fits in with Moonbean’s unpretentious attitude.
