With its pressed-tin ceiling, brown walls, ornately framed mirror and a counter made of huge squared timbers, this Roncesvalles hangout exudes warmth. There are piles of newspapers and magazines by the window and a bulletin board by the door; the mostly single patrons linger happily over textbooks and laptops while sipping direct-trade coffee from Stumptown Roasters (drip $1.50–$2, cappuccino $3.25). Biscotti, panini and gelato by the scoop ($3.50–$5.50) are offered at the counter. Free Wi-Fi.
