Black and white linoleum floors, chalkboards, six counter stools and the smell of baking banana bread (springy and moist) make the tiny, sun-dappled room feel as warm and inviting as your grandma’s kitchen. Regulars saunter in and out, some taking a seat on the benches outside while waiting for their brunch table at Saving Grace across the street; others hop on their bicycles after sipping a peppery espresso. A friendly, aproned barista-baker (there’s only room for two in the little kitchen) whips up frothy fair-trade lattes and an array of oven-fresh goodies while singing along to “Ruby Tuesday.” Free Wi-Fi.
