For three years, Dufferin Grove locals have protectively embraced this gem of a café. On Sunday mornings, they flock here to worship at the altar of a robin’s egg blue Elektra that turns out divine espressos (there’s nary a drip coffee maker in the house). Seating in the fuss-free room is in demand, so its common to see strangers—a breastfeeding mom and a laptop-absorbed student, say—sharing a table. The bare walls are lined with reclaimed church pews, which are perfect places to perch with a flaky finger of homemade shortbread and a mellow Americano—a mix of dark and light roast with just enough kick.
