The Tea Emporium

Upon entering, one is struck with an acute case of tea set envy. But do try to pull yourself away from the glorious array of teacups, pots and sets, as the tea that fills row upon row of dark canisters along the sleek black shelves at the back is what this shop is all about. Don’t know about tea? Attend one of the instructive biweekly seminars. Looking for a new tea? Obliging staff will open the canisters, allowing you to experience the different fragrances. You might just end up with some Green Kombucha Lime, Sencha Kiwi Garden, exotic hand-sewn flowering teas or a rare high-grade, first-flush darjeeling. All told, there are more than 140 different options, which makes the Eglinton West location’s lounge handy: each tea is available by the cup and can be enjoyed with a one of the delightful pastries brought in from Rahier. Don’t miss the display full of jams, meat rubs, cookies and bath salts, all featuring one of the shop’s top-quality teas.
