This lively café is where the righteous consume caffeine, guilt-free. Strictly organic fair-trade coffees from various co-operatives are roasted daily at a nearby warehouse, and arrive bearing such names as Organic Serendipity Medium-Dark Blend. A wide selection of fair-trade teas, including anything from conventional chamomile to deep green satisfy tea drinkers. Compost-able and 100 per cent biodegradable takeout cups keep the eco-warriors happy, while vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free snacks provide nourishment to even the pickiest of eaters. Do-gooders take heart—many Alternative Grounds purchases raise money for the disenfranchised, through regular projects with Amnesty International and various other local and international community groups.
