After running an independent cheese counter in Harbord Bakery, Nancy Peppler has had a shop to call her own for over a year. The bright space is the perfect setting for her one-woman show and is conveniently located a few doors down from the LCBO. Giving equal billing to Canada and the rest of the world, the succinct selection (mostly artisanal) is perfect for neophytes intimidated by larger shops. The revolving stock may include such gems as Le 1608, a nutty raw-milk cheese from Quebec. Pasquale flatbreads and custom-made Corian cheeseboards satisfy connoisseurs. Tasting classes called Cheese Chats are as social as they are educational.
