As a child in Poitiers, France, owner Laurent Brion helped his mother make the local goat cheese, chabichou. So it’s no surprise that he transformed this former coffee shop into a charming cheese boutique and café that doubles as a French convenience store. Locals drop by for a selection of French and Canadian cheeses, including the namesake fromage, an Ace baguette, or homemade charcuterie and pâtés. Those with a bit more time peruse the olive oils, jams and biscuits that line the shelves while lingering over a coffee and a slice of Brion’s decadent quiche lorraine or cheesy croque monsieur.
