Customers who’ve been shopping at this butcher shop since the ’70s call out greetings to owner and head meat cutter Mark Michelin while selecting steaks for the barbecue or a roast for Sunday dinner. Marbled Canadian triple-A beef is the star attraction, though other temptations abound, such as certified organic Irish salmon, house-made chorizo, quarter-pound black tiger shrimp, and Ontario lamb. Michelin also stocks produce, hand-picked four mornings a week at the Food Terminal. His adjacent deli, opened in 2004, fuels a lunch crowd with such house-made classics as egg salad sandwiches, mac-and-cheese and butterscotch muffins.
