This deliciously authentic butchery is famous for its pastrami—arguably Toronto’s best—and excellent sliced roast turkey. It also stocks big briskets and veal shoulders and the increasingly elusive medium (read: not lean) ground beef. There is also a hot cart laden with meatballs and stuffed chicken breasts, and freezers full of chicken noodle soup. In recent years, the prepared foods section has expanded greatly; everything is made fresh on the premises. The grocery shelves cater to a large South African community: dips and sauces, and house-made biltong. Closed Saturday.
