The emphasis at this lively shop is on family and community, with dishes prepared in a nut-free kitchen, keeping kids and food sensitivities in mind. Meat is local (though not organic), except the Alberta Kobe. Freezers are stocked with oven-ready entrées, meat pies and soups. In the display cooler, salads are the perfect companions to a plump Mennonite rotisserie chicken. A selection of produce, Ace breads, sauces, Phipps desserts and wild or organic fish round out the options. In warmer months, moms and kids come by for the daily barbecue lunch held on the patio.
