The warm, weathered shop exudes an authentic feeling of neighbourhood. An abundant selection of carefully tended fresh meats is supplemented by house-made sausages, marinated kebabs and, occasionally, duck confit. For sandwiches, house-roasted beef, turkey and meat loaf are on offer. A hot counter features house-made chicken wings and spareribs. In response to conscientious customers, the shop carries Field Gate organic beef, naturally raised Cumbrae chickens, and wild salmon in season. Closed Monday.
