Shortbread might be a favourite during the Christmas season, but Mary Macleod’s cookies are so good that business booms year-round. Varieties include walnut–and–bittersweet chocolate and almond-cranberry confections (which, less crunchy than their plain cousins, are highly recommended). With fans across the continent, the little shop is the front for a mail-order empire. Closed Sunday and Monday year-round; closed Friday to Monday January to October.
