“We need to learn to activate certain muscles that are asleep and deactivate other muscles that tend to be overworked,” says owner Barbara Grant, who is also one of the 14 certified instructors (mainly Stott, Physical Mind and Counter Balance) at Retrofit. Sizable group classes are held in a bright, newly renovated studio, with 10 portable Reformers. Private and semi-private equipment classes are held in a separate room that houses three Reformers, a Cadillac, a stability chair, and step and ladder barrels. Yoga and Nia classes are also offered.
