Suburbanites need alternative health care, too—luckily for east enders, Angela Matei’s tidy 2,000-square-foot clinic is about to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. After a first career as a registered nurse, Matei added massage therapy to her credentials in the late ’90s, and now oversees a staff of seven other full-time RMTs. She meets with local doctors to explain how her treatments work, and now has a full roster of clients, many of whom come in for physical relief after car accidents or athletic injuries, or to deal with such chronic conditions as fibromyalgia (30 minutes $48, one hour $75, 90 minutes $105). The clinic also offers the services of naturopaths, chiropodists and acupuncturists. Newly available are nutrition services, including a 12-week workshop on healthy eating for weight loss.
How much:
half-hour $48, 45 min. $60, one hour $75, 90 min. $105.
