Founded in 1906 as a luncheon club by U of T alumni, the University Club occupies a stately Georgian edifice just a stone’s throw from Osgoode Hall. But it’s got one foot planted firmly in the 21st century: the gym features rowing machines, bikes, treadmills and steppers; a cardio studio offers Pilates and yoga; membership allows you access to some private golf clubs, such as Sleepy Hollow.
How much:
initiation fee up to $4,500, annual fee up to $2,340, fitness membership $485 per year.
