From the clientele—Doku 15 and Atelier owner Zark Fatah is a member—to its clubland location, this is a gym where the buff, the bold and the beautiful feel right at home. Officially opened in September 2007, Extreme boasts a 41,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. The two floors of studios (spinning and stretching, yoga) and gear (Life Fitness cardio equipment and Hammer Strength machines) are pitched toward those who like to check out themselves and others: mirrors cover nearly every wall, and all studios are glass-enclosed. Thirty personal trainers are on hand to guide you, and fitness evaluations are included with membership, with optional progress checkups every eight weeks. Luxurious change rooms feature leather couches and flat screen TVs, as well as—according to Extreme—North America’s only cold rooms: the opposite of a sauna, the rooms are maintained at an allegedly therapeutic three degrees Celsius, ideal for detoxifying after a night on the town.
How much:
no initiation fee, monthly fee from $57.
